The Titans
of the desert
floor.
A private guided half-day hike through the most dramatic sandstone formations in the Moab area. Walk beneath the Titan, Ancient Art, and Echo Tower — where the landscape stops you cold, every few steps.
Like nowhere
else on Earth.
Rising abruptly from the desert floor, the Fisher Towers look like something from another planet. These tall, striped sandstone formations glow red, orange, and gold in the changing light and create one of the most iconic hiking experiences in the Moab area.
The trail winds along ledges, through sandy washes, and beneath the bases of these massive formations, offering constant views of the Titan, Ancient Art, and Echo Tower. Around every corner the perspective changes — and the scale of the towers becomes more impressive.
This hike feels adventurous without being technical. There are short sections of slickrock, narrow footpaths along ledges, and a few spots where you'll use your hands for balance — but nothing exposed or overly difficult. Engaging, scenic, and unforgettable.
A Photographer's Dream
The striped, glowing formations change color by the minute. Your guide knows the best light and the best angles. Come with a full card.
Genuinely Off the Beaten Track
Quieter than Arches, wilder than anything inside the park. Fisher Towers feels like a discovery, even on a well-marked trail.
Scale That Stops You Cold
The Titan rises 900 feet from the canyon floor. Standing beneath it, the numbers don't capture it — you have to be there.
formations.
Adventurous. Scenic. Unforgettable.
The Fisher Towers trail is approximately 4.4 miles round trip with around 900 feet of elevation gain — a half day that genuinely earns its views. The terrain keeps you honest: sandy washes that soften underfoot, slickrock slabs that demand attention, narrow ledge paths that tighten your focus.
Because of the incredible geology, ever-changing views, and relatively quiet setting compared to the national park trails, Fisher Towers is a favorite for photographers, families, and anyone wanting a true desert hiking experience.
A private guide transforms the experience. Instead of reading a trail sign and moving on, you'll understand what you're looking at — the geology, the climbing history, the way light and shadow play differently every hour. We slow down in the right places.
This isn't a race to the turnaround. It's a half day spent genuinely inside one of the most extraordinary landscapes in the American Southwest, with someone who knows every ledge and loves every corner of it.
Built for the curious,
not just the athletic.
Fisher Towers rewards anyone willing to show up. Here's who gets the most out of a private guided half day.
A half day that
punches well above its weight.
Meet at the Trailhead
We meet at the Fisher Towers trailhead, approximately 25 minutes from Moab via the scenic Colorado River corridor on UT-128. Your guide will do a quick briefing, hand out any gear, and get you oriented.
Into the Formations
The towers appear almost immediately. Your guide narrates the geology, points out climbers' routes overhead, and slows things down whenever the view demands it. No rushing through the good parts.
The Titan Viewpoint
The highest point of the hike, and the payoff. Standing beneath 900 feet of vertical sandstone — with the Colorado River visible in the valley below — is one of those moments that resets your sense of scale. We stay as long as you want.
Back to the Trailhead
The return trail shows you the formations from entirely new angles. Your guide keeps the conversation going — and will happily point you toward the best Moab breakfast spot once you're back at the car.
Rest of Moab Awaits
You're back in town before lunch. Still enough day ahead for a riverside picnic, another Clapper adventure, or simply a cold drink and a long sit somewhere with a view.
Remaining balance due 48 hours before departure.
Have questions? We love talking about this trail.
What to wear.
What to bring.
Fisher Towers is desert canyon hiking — exposed, warm, and worth every layer you bring.
This is not a flat desert stroll. Expect varied terrain, big views, and a trail that keeps things interesting.
There are sections of slickrock, narrow footpaths along ledges, and a few spots where you'll use your hands for balance. Nothing technical or exposed — but you should be comfortable walking on uneven surfaces and be reasonably fit for 4+ miles of hiking.
We'll move at a comfortable pace, take time for photos, and enjoy the constantly changing perspective of the towers as we wind through the landscape. If you're unsure whether this is right for your group, call us before you book — we'll give you a straight answer.
Fisher Towers is one of those places where the photos barely do it justice. The scale, the silence, the way the light hits the striated red rock at 8 AM — it's something you have to stand in to understand.
Come hungry to look. Bring your curiosity about geology, about climbing history, about the river corridor. We'll fill in every gap.
The views speak for themselves.
