What This Tour Is

The complete Moab
canyoneering day.

Moab sits at the center of some of the planet's most extraordinary canyon terrain. Slot canyons carved by ancient rivers, sheer sandstone walls, and drops that make your heart race — this is the landscape a full day lets you actually live in.

Unlike a quick half-day sampler, a full day tour moves deeper, goes further, and gives your guide the time to read your group's energy and keep raising the bar. More rappels. More exploration. More of the kind of day you'll be talking about for years.

This tour is 100% private. You will not share it with strangers. The route, the pace, and the experience are built around your group — whether that's a first-timer family, a pair of adventurous friends, or a crew looking to push their technical skills.

Questions

Things people
want to know.

We're happy to answer anything before you book. Don't see your question here?

No prior experience needed at all. Our certified guides teach everything you need — rappel technique, body position, chimneying, and partner assists — before you enter the canyon and progressively throughout the day. The full day format gives us plenty of time to build skills in a natural, low-pressure way.

Sturdy, closed-toe trail runners or hiking shoes with good grip are essential. Dress in comfortable, weather-appropriate layers — mornings can be cool and afternoons warm, especially in shoulder seasons. Bring sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, at least 3 liters of water, a full lunch, snacks, and a camera. We'll send a detailed packing list when you confirm your booking.

Yes — 100%. Clapper Adventures does not combine strangers on tours. When you book a full day canyoneering trip, that day is reserved exclusively for your group. The route, the pacing, and the experience are built around you. No shared shuttles, no waiting for other parties.

Participants should be at least 8 years old. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For fitness, if you can comfortably hike 5+ miles with some elevation and uneven terrain, you're in good shape for this tour. We customize the experience for each group's ability level — let us know if you have specific concerns when you inquire.

We understand plans change. We ask that you contact us as soon as possible if you need to reschedule or cancel. Specific cancellation terms will be included in your booking confirmation. Weather-related cancellations or guide-initiated modifications to routes are handled on a case-by-case basis with your safety as the priority.

Spring (March–May) and fall (September–November) are Moab's prime canyoneering seasons — comfortable temps, ideal conditions, and the most route flexibility. Summer trips are possible with early starts to beat the heat. Winter is primarily a La Sal Mountains ski season, but some canyon days are possible on mild days. Book spring and fall well in advance — they fill up fast.
