All trips.
One wild
playground.
Six adventure disciplines. Hundreds of possible combinations. Every trip private, every route chosen for your group, every day guided by locals who live and breathe this landscape.
Choose your
adventure.
Six distinct adventure types — all private, all tailored, all guided by people who made the Colorado Plateau their permanent home. Can't choose? We'll build the perfect combination.
Moab Canyoneering
Rappel, chimney, and weave through water-carved sandstone cathedrals on Moab's most iconic routes. From a first-timer's introduction to technical canyon systems — we tailor every descent to your group's skill and confidence.
Rock Climbing
Scale world-class formations at Indian Creek's perfect crack systems, Ancient Art's mind-bending spires, and Castleton Tower's classic desert multi-pitch. Professional instruction that builds real skills, not just one great day.
Mountain Biking
Ride the terrain that put Moab MTB on the world map. Your guide reads your skill level and picks the route that actually matches — whether that's flowing singletrack, technical slickrock, or an epic point-to-point.
Guided Hiking
Walk through landscapes that stop you mid-sentence — towering arches, hidden slot canyons, dinosaur tracks, and wildflower-painted mesas. Local guides choose routes that match your group's pace and curiosity.
Backcountry Skiing & Snowboarding
Untouched powder in the La Sal Mountains — with red rock country spread out below you. Moab's best-kept winter secret, guided by AIARE-trained locals who know every slope and avalanche terrain feature.
Multi-Sport Adventures
Why pick one when the whole Colorado Plateau is your playground? Combine canyoneering, climbing, mountain biking, and hiking into seamless 1-day or multi-day expeditions. One guide. No downtime. Maximum Moab.
Not a tour group.
Your trip.
Every adventure is designed around your people — your skill level, your pace, your idea of the perfect day outside. We don't shuffle strangers together and call it private.
Your Group, Only Your Group
Private tours mean low guide-to-guest ratios, more coaching, complete flexibility, and a day shaped around what makes your group click.
Guides Who Live Here
Our guides chose Moab as home — not as a job. They know the hidden routes, the real-time conditions, and how to read desert terrain in a way no guidebook captures.
Skills That Last
Every trip is also a lesson. Whether you're learning your first rappel or refining crack climbing footwork, you leave with abilities that extend beyond this one adventure.
Safety That Enables Adventure
All trips operate through fully permitted and insured outfitters. Professional training, quality gear, and wilderness expertise let you focus on the experience, not the worry.
Moab adventures,
every season.
Moab is a four-season destination — each season opens different doors. Here's what to expect and when to come for the experience you're after.
Prime time for everything.
Spring is Moab's golden window — perfect temperatures, wildflowers painting the desert, and comfortable conditions for full days in the canyon. Every activity is accessible and at its best. Book early; spring fills fast.
Early starts, golden rewards.
Summer heat is real — and manageable with smart timing. We schedule early morning starts to catch the best conditions, then shift to shaded canyon terrain or evening activities. The desert light at dawn and dusk is unlike anything else.
Peak season, peak conditions.
Fall rivals spring as Moab's best season. Crystal-clear skies, perfect temperatures, and conditions that make every adventure feel effortless. Multi-day expeditions shine in fall — all day, every day, with no heat limits.
Powder above. Red rock below.
Winter unlocks a completely different Moab. The canyon trails carry almost nobody — pure solitude. And just 30 minutes above town, the La Sal Mountains hold deep backcountry powder with desert panoramas that visitors rarely see.
Real trips.
Real reviews.
"Evan tailored the whole canyoneering day to our family's skill level. My 10-year-old absolutely crushed the rappels and wants to move to Moab."
"Best climbing guide I've ever worked with. He knew exactly where to take us and pushed our skills without being reckless. Will absolutely book again."
"The La Sal backcountry ski day was incredible — desert views from the top of a powder run. Nobody else was doing this. Only possible with a local guide."
"We did a two-day combo: MTB and canyoneering. Evan planned everything and adapted when one of us tweaked a knee. Couldn't have asked for a better trip."
"As complete beginners, we were nervous about canyoneering. Evan made it feel totally safe and incredibly fun. Morning Glory Canyon is now our favorite place on earth."
"The MTB guide tour was exactly what we needed — someone who knows the trail network, can read skill levels, and makes every rider feel capable. Book this."

Yes, always. Every Clapper Adventures trip is your group, your guide, and nobody else. We don't combine separate bookings, run group tours, or put you with strangers. Your private tour means your pace, your route preferences, and your guide's full attention.
Absolutely. Canyoneering welcomes kids ages 8 and up, and hiking tours work for all ages. We customize every aspect — route choice, pace, challenges — around the youngest members of your group. Family adventures are some of our most popular trips.
We'll send a detailed packing list once your trip is confirmed. In general: sturdy footwear, sun protection, layers for temperature swings, plenty of water capacity, and a spirit of curiosity. Specialty gear for canyoneering and climbing is provided or arranged through us.
Spring (March–May) and Fall (September–November) are the sweet spots for most activities — ideal temperatures and all options open. Summer works with early-morning scheduling. Winter is surprisingly great for La Sal backcountry skiing and solitude canyon hiking. See our seasonal guide above for specifics.
Desert weather can shift quickly. Our guides monitor conditions closely and make real-time decisions to optimize your experience and keep the group safe. For canyoneering in particular, flash flood awareness is always part of trip planning — we factor in weather forecasts and make responsible calls. We'll discuss our weather policy when you book.
