Why This, With Us

Sandstone, sky, and
centuries of story.

Wall Street isn't just Moab's most accessible climbing — it's where ancient Puebloan and Fremont cultures left their mark on the same stone your hands are on. Your Clapper guide knows every route and every panel. The day is yours.

🧗

Truly private — your group, no strangers

Every Clapper climb is private. We build the day around your ability, your pace, and what you're curious about. No waiting for a crowd. No keeping up.

🪨

Decades of local knowledge on this exact wall

Our certified guides have climbed Wall Street in every light and every season. They know which routes build confidence, which ones push you, and where the best petroglyph panels are.

⏱️

Maximum climbing, minimum fuss

Five-minute approach. All gear provided. Two session windows — morning for cool temps, afternoon for golden light. Half-day format fits any Moab itinerary.

👨‍👩‍👧

Works for families, couples, and solo adventurers

Kids 8 and up are welcome. Mixed ability groups are no problem — Wall Street has something for every skill level on the same stretch of wall.

Your Half Day

What the day
actually looks like.

From the moment you pull into Potash Road to your last move on the wall — here's how it flows. Adjust for morning or afternoon sessions; the rhythm is the same.

01
🤝

Meet at Wall Street

Your guide meets you at the Potash Road parking area — a short, scenic drive from town. Introductions, a quick chat about your group's experience and goals, and gear fitting.

02
🪄

Safety briefing + technique intro

Before the first move, your guide walks through climbing technique, commands, harness check, and what to expect on the rock. No experience? This is where it starts.

03
🧗

Climb — as much as you want

Routes chosen for your group's level. You'll build through the session, often surprising yourself with what's possible. Beginners get solid coaching; experienced climbers get challenge.

04
🪨

Explore the petroglyph galleries

Between climbs or at natural breaks, your guide interprets the rock art panels — Puebloan and Fremont imagery centuries old — that share the same sandstone you're climbing.

05
🌊

Colorado River views

Wall Street sits right above the Colorado. Many routes put you at eye level with the river and the La Sal Mountains beyond. Bring your camera — or just look.

06

Wrap, debrief, what's next

End of session, your guide checks in on how you felt, what clicked, and what you might want to build toward — full-day, Indian Creek, Castleton. The rabbit hole is deep.

Sample Routes

Routes for every
level of bold.

Your guide selects routes based on your group. These are examples — the options at Wall Street are vast, and the right day depends on you.

5.5 · Slab
Easy Street

The ideal first outdoor climb. Excellent holds, manageable exposure, and a confidence-builder that doesn't feel like a warmup.

5.6 · Face
Beginner's Luck

A gentle introduction to reading outdoor rock — slightly more technical than Easy Street, great for guests who felt comfortable early.

5.7 · Classic
Ancient Art (Wall Street variation)

A crowd-pleaser at the moderate end. Petroglyph panels nearby make this one of the more memorable stops on the wall.

5.9 · Sustained
The Green Mile

Technical and varied — a route that demands different moves throughout, building technique rather than brute strength.

5.9–5.10 · Multi
Petroglyph Wall

Multiple line options at this grade, positioned directly alongside ancient rock art — the cultural and climbing high point of many half-days.

5.10a · Exposed
River View

Positioned to maximize that Colorado River backdrop. The exposure feels bigger than the grade — a mental stretch as much as physical.

5.12a · Steep
Pocket Change

Powerful and precise — small pockets on overhanging stone. A half-day on this route is a very full half-day for any experienced climber.

5.11c · Technical Face
Wall Street Blues

Sustained, technical face climbing with enough variety to keep you working the whole pitch. Great sends require clean footwork.

5.11–5.12 · Your Choice
Expert's Pick

Tell your guide what you want to work on — power, technique, head game — and they'll find the right Wall Street route to match.

Climb the wall.

Wall Street doubles as an open-air gallery. Puebloan and Fremont peoples carved and painted into this same sandstone centuries ago. Your guide interprets what they left behind.

🖐️

Petroglyphs — carved into stone

Images chiseled directly into the rock surface — animals, figures, symbols — often near water sources like the Colorado River below.

🎨

Pictographs — painted with pigment

Created from natural ochre, charcoal, and plant-based pigments. Some have survived hundreds to thousands of years on this exposed wall.

🌿

Leave No Trace — including the art

Your guide covers respectful viewing ethics. These panels are irreplaceable. Never touch, never chalk near them. We teach it before we get there.

When to Come

Wall Street climbs
year-round.

Moab sandstone doesn't close for winter. But timing matters — here's what to expect each season, and how we adjust.

Spring
March – May

Prime season. Comfortable temps, reliable blue skies, and the river running with snowmelt. Book early — spring fills fast.

Prime Season
Summer
June – August

Early morning sessions are essential — Wall Street is shaded in the AM, and the rock stays manageable. Afternoon sun is intense. We schedule accordingly.

Morning Sessions Only
Fall
September – November

Arguably the best. Cooler air, spectacular light on the canyon walls, and the La Sal Mountains starting to show color. Book ahead.

Prime Season
Winter
December – February

Moab winters are mild. Sunny days hit the 50s–60s regularly. Morning sessions recommended. Combine with a La Sal ski day for the ultimate Moab double.

Weather-Dependent
Common Questions

Real answers,
no runaround.

Planning a climbing day brings questions. Here's what guests ask most about Wall Street.

Not at all. Wall Street is one of the best places in Moab to have your first outdoor climbing experience. Your guide starts from scratch — harness fitting, commands, movement on the rock — and progresses at your pace. Many guests arrive nervous and leave planning their next climb.

Yes — and Wall Street handles this well. The wall has beginner and advanced routes within close proximity. Your guide can manage mixed groups, keeping everyone moving at an appropriate level without anyone sitting idle. This is one of the reasons Wall Street works so well for families and friend groups.

Depends on the season and what you're after. Morning sessions are cooler — essential in summer, preferred in spring — and less crowded. Afternoon sessions give better light for photography and feel warmer in fall and winter. Ask your guide what they recommend for your dates when you inquire.

Yes — kids 8 and up are welcome. The five-minute approach is family-friendly, and there are beginner routes well within reach of younger climbers. The petroglyph component keeps non-climbing family members genuinely engaged. Let us know your kids' ages when you inquire and we'll tailor the day accordingly.

Moab weather is generally excellent, but sandstone can become dangerously slick when wet. Your guide monitors conditions closely and will either suggest an alternative activity, reschedule, or adapt the route plan if conditions change. Safety takes priority over sticking to a plan — always.

Use the inquiry form or call 435.260.7066. We respond within 24 hours. Spring and fall book out weeks in advance — the earlier the better. Summer and winter typically need 2–3 weeks, but we can sometimes fit shorter notice. Just ask.

Half-day climbing pairs beautifully with afternoon canyoneering, a mountain bike loop, or guided hiking. Many guests do a Wall Street morning and a canyon afternoon — it's one of our most popular Moab doubles. Ask about multi-sport combinations when you inquire.
