Moab, Utah · Colorado Plateau
Hike It. Bike It. Climb It. Rappel Into It.
One private, multi-sport adventure across Moab's canyons, singletrack, and sandstone walls. Built around your group and led by guides who never left this desert.
Why Multi-Sport
Moab Rewards People Who See It More Than One Way
Most visitors pick a single activity and call it a trip. A multi-sport adventure lets you meet the same red rock country on foot, on two wheels, on a rope, and inside a slot canyon carved over millions of years.
We handle the logistics. One guide, no driving back to town between activities, and no wasted daylight. Just you, your group, and the desert.

Why Combining Activities Changes the Trip
Pick one activity and you see Moab from one angle. Combine a few and the landscape starts explaining itself.
A Landscape Read Four Ways
Hiking teaches you to read the rock layers. Climbing puts you against them. Canyoneering takes you inside the formations most visitors only ever photograph from a viewpoint.
Skills That Transfer
Balance from the bike carries into the canyon. Body awareness from climbing makes the hiking easier. By the third day, nothing here feels new.
More Desert, Less Downtime
Whether you have one day or three, combining activities cuts the driving and doubles the terrain you actually experience.
Signature Package
The 3-Day Moab Multi-Sport Adventure
Four sports, three days, one route through red rock country. Skills build daily, so what you learn on day one is still working for you on day three.
Easing In at Arches National Park
Arrive in Moab and spend the afternoon among the fins, windows, and freestanding arches that put this canyon country on the map. Your guide reads the geology, points out wildlife, and sets a pace that matches your group's energy after a day of travel.
A gentle first day, good for shaking off travel before two full days of harder terrain.
Desert Singletrack and Sandstone Walls
Morning, mountain biking: start on Moab singletrack chosen for your group, whether that's the flow of Brand Trails, the exposure of Mag 7, or the technical rock rolls of Navajo Rocks. You'll learn to read terrain and pick lines across some of the most distinctive trail surfaces anywhere.
Afternoon, rock climbing: we move from horizontal to vertical, covering movement fundamentals, belaying, and the specific technique Moab sandstone demands. The rope skills from this session carry straight into tomorrow's canyon.
Into the Slot Canyon
Everything from the first two days comes together here. Balance from the bike. Rope confidence from the wall. Terrain sense from the trail. Canyoneering takes you down into the desert itself: rappelling, stemming, and squeezing through sandstone passages most visitors never see.
Canyon selection, whether Bow and Arrow, Morning Glory, or a quieter local route, depends on your group's confidence and the day's conditions.
By the end of day three, you'll understand why so many guides who visit Moab decide to stay.
Every Activity
What You'll Actually Do
Hiking in Moab
From the sweeping formations of Arches and Canyonlands to quiet trails far from the crowded pullouts. Your guide knows where the wildflowers peak, where the old rock art hides, and which routes tell the clearest geological story.
Mountain Biking
Moab's slickrock built modern mountain biking. We guide routes matched to your skill, from the approachable Brand Trails to the iconic Mag 7, the technical Navajo Rocks, or Monitor and Merrimack.
Rock Climbing
Moab sandstone is one of the country's best climbing destinations: Indian Creek, Ancient Art, Castleton Tower. We teach you to move on this rock and take you from first attempt to real competence in a single focused day.
Canyoneering
Rappelling, hand lines, stemming, chimneying, and partner assists. Canyoneering is desert problem solving at its best, descending some of Moab's most striking slot canyons on routes chosen for your group's comfort.
Winter Add-On: Backcountry Skiing and Snowboarding in the La Sal Mountains
From December through March, the La Sal Mountains above Moab hold a backcountry ski experience most visitors never know exists. Clapper Adventures runs private ski tours from Geyser Pass, coaching uphill efficiency and terrain selection, with a round-trip shuttle from Moab included. Combine a ski day with lower elevation desert activities for a winter trip unlike anywhere else.

Common Questions
Everything You Want to Know Before Booking
What is a multi-sport adventure in Moab?
A multi-sport adventure combines two or more outdoor activities, typically hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, and canyoneering, into one guided experience. Clapper Adventures builds custom multi-sport days or multi-day packages so you see the full range of red rock country without switching guides or managing logistics yourself.
Do I need any experience for a multi-sport tour?
No prior technical experience is required. We teach everything from the fundamentals up. You should be comfortable on uneven terrain and have reasonable fitness for full days outdoors. Ages 12 and up are recommended for full technical packages. Younger participants may be accommodated depending on the activities, so ask us directly.
What activities are included in Clapper Adventures multi-sport tours?
Multi-sport adventures can include Arches and Canyonlands hiking, desert mountain biking on trails like Mag 7 and Navajo Rocks, sandstone rock climbing at locations like Indian Creek and Ancient Art, slot canyon canyoneering, and in winter, backcountry skiing in the La Sal Mountains. All combinations are customized to your group.
How long is the 3-day Moab multi-sport adventure?
The 3-day package spans three days. Day 1 is an afternoon arrival and gentle Arches introduction (2 to 3 miles). Days 2 and 3 are full days running 6 to 8 hours of active outdoor time each, covering mountain biking and rock climbing, then canyoneering. Pacing and intensity adjust to your group throughout.
What gear is included in multi-sport tours?
All technical gear is included: climbing harnesses, ropes, helmets, climbing shoes, canyoneering rappelling devices and hardware, webbing, and safety equipment. Mountain bike rentals are available if needed. You bring personal clothing, water (2+ liters per person per day), sun protection, and snacks. We send a detailed packing list after booking.
What's the best time of year for multi-sport adventures in Moab?
Spring (March to May) and fall (September to November) are the prime seasons: comfortable temperatures, ideal for all four activities, and the best photography conditions. Summer tours start early to beat the heat. Winter opens up backcountry skiing in the La Sal Mountains alongside lower-elevation desert activities.
Are Clapper Adventures multi-sport tours private?
Yes, always. Every Clapper Adventures experience is completely private. Your group only, never combined with strangers. That allows real-time customization, honest pacing, route adjustments based on your energy, and the kind of dynamic that makes multi-day adventures feel shared rather than just scheduled together.
Is the 3-day package good for families with kids?
Yes. The 3-day package is family-friendly and fully customizable for mixed ages and abilities. Ages 12 and up are recommended for the full technical curriculum. Younger families should inquire directly. Guides adjust the day around the youngest participant while keeping the whole group appropriately challenged.
What Adventurers Say
Real Trips. Real People.
The multi-sport adventure was everything we hoped for and more. Instead of spending half our vacation driving between activities and dealing with different guides, we got seamless transitions, incredible variety, and the feeling that we really experienced Moab rather than just visited it.
As a family with kids ranging from 8 to 16, we were worried about finding activities that would engage everyone. Our guide somehow managed to customize the experience so each kid felt appropriately challenged while my wife and I learned skills we didn't know we wanted.
Thanks to Evan's instruction and technical expertise I left Moab climbing at least two grades harder than I ever could in the gym. Learning to jam those beautiful desert cracks was nothing short of inspirational.
